Trip to Xi'an (the old heart of China)
About Xi’an
Xi'an lies about 1200 kilometers south of Beijing in the province Shaanxi. The city was in former times the starting point of the Silk Route, and had the same magnitude as Rome and the residence of 13 dynasties. Most well-known is the world famous terracotta army from the Qin-Dynasty, thanks to it's young ruler Qin Shi Huang Di. Two thousand years ago, he unified seven states to the Chinese empire and became China's first emperor.
With a current population of eight million, Xi'an is considered even for the Chinese as a large city. Yet, the historical buildings, the close lanes, and city-walls of the 14th Century, which is the most completely preserved in China, let it still appear nearly like a small town.
Nevertheless: Innovative promotion of economy development, which attracts high-tech enterprises from the whole world like a magnet, catapulted Xi'an up to place number 4 of China's business locations. Numerous universities qualify the management trainees for the fast-growing progress of the Chinese industry.
